What's wrong with porn? WHAT'S RIGHT WITH PORN? Don't give me that jive about it being a release for would-be molestors. It's been proven to to ignite ideas of molestation and even murder. One porn video has thousands if not millions of victims.
I love the new age views. They allow for all these lovely "spirit guides" and angels and cascades of positive thoughts and silver linings all around us. Porn is neither good nor bad, it simply is what it is to the beholder. Yeah, right. They don't acknowledge the flip side of that sweet philosophy: for every front, there's a back, for every up, there's a down. Porn is a vile depiction of something that is flat-out supposed to be a private expression between people who love each other. Any other candy-coated application or use of sex (marketing, movies, etc.) is bullshit. Everything's ok these days. Everything's subjective - if it's good for you, it's good. Well, folks, that's just not true. Porn has a domino effect of evil that ripples throughout our entire society. Pretending otherwise is stupid and destructive. Every porn "star" is someone's daughter, son, sister, mother, dad, brother --- and it hurts. However, it's a multi-billion dollar industry, so I guess that makes it ok.
Not in my house, it doesn't.
Porn is an outrage that should be eradicated.

Wow, thanks for being so honest and vulnerable as you share your life story of how God broke your heart just to piece it back together again making you whole through his redeeming love that he has for you! Your story is profound, Jason!

Many thanks with your good story. If i have a chance to visit in Bangkok again , i will go to Grand Palace and looking for the hotel around Kaosarn Road. I think that Kaosarn Road is good for young travellers. Around the street, there are a number of old buildings and temples, some of which have been transformed into restaurants and even tattoo parlours, although you will still find quiet family homes if you look deep enough. Aside from some interesting architecture, Banglampoo shows the mix of peoples and heritages that is the character of Bangkok. There are Muslims, Buddhists, Mons, and of course a great number of foreigners in this small area. All of this makes the area an interesting place for a glimpse of Thai life. Thais also appreciate the area for the many types of traditional kanom or Thai snacks and desserts available and the cheap clothing available in the Banglampoo Market

How can you prove something when you don't know what it looks like? There was a time when people could "prove" spontaneous generation, then disproved. We have proved many things over time - it does not mean it is there. Before you can prove something, you must first establish the criteria for proof. Because if you ask a religious person, their criteria for proof may be different to your criteria for proof.
If your criteria means: "you can see it, touch it, feel it" etc - then by your definition ions (and many other things) do not exist.
And then once you have got past the massive debate about what constitutes proof, then you can get on with proving it.

Also I think many people misunderstand what they mean when they say "God". For some it is a concept, for some an expression of something that cannot otherwise be expressed, for some Jesus, for others the Sun. So you need to get that sorted as well.

For me, God is a word that describes what I cannot describe in any other way. Much in the same way that "ouch" describes my reaction to a pain: "ouch" is the best word for it. I don't need to see pain to know something hurts. And I don't need to see GOd to know what I feel.

One more thing, "In today's world" is sort of silly I think. Do you really believe "todays world" is that different from "yesterdays"?

I am shocked at the level of superficiality and ignorance I found in this strand of posts. If you really believe this strongly in your "independence" you will perhaps find yourself in a very lonely world protecting your "stuff" from people like you.

I never want to take the people I love for granted and prefer to think of my friends and family as interdependent. Think of it like a bee hive, an ant hill or any working unit in nature. If you truly believe people don't really need to connect and need each other then what you are saying to me is that you don't need others and that living below the baseline of happiness is better than rising up. Sad to say it is just immature talk.

Jason, your post made me tear up.

I am an atheist so I understand your post a little differently. I hope my understanding doesn't offend anyone.

Everything that you have said about your relationship with God and even significant other, translates to mean to me a relationship with my own higher self. Even the significant other as a part of me, like a mirror in some ways and a nurturer that I am not to myself. The realization is strong. Its impact on me is strong. The fact that I can recognize what my higher self is like made me tear up. I am striving to live up to the standards of my higher self.

P.S. You can use what I said to further reaffirm your belief in God! :)
